Guess it is time to post

I have been so busy I just haven’t taken time to post.  I have promised myself I will do better. This is going to be short though.  I am feeling great and the doctors have decided I have Croans disease which can be triggered by my gluten sensitivity known as Celiac. I am being so good no gluten and I haven’t had a flair for about 8 weeks.  God is good!!

Well, time to go knit for awhile - I am going to the Little Barn tomorrow to spin one of my favorite places and things to do. I will be back on regular basis I promise.

Way To Long

Wow, way to long between posts!! I went to California and had a great time - then the day after I arrived home it was all downhill. I have been very sick and not getting that much better. I have developed some type of stomach disorder. I have had lots of tests and I am living on pain pills.

I will post pictures and more about my trip soon. I have finished six pairs of socks this month so I am really on a roll!! Off to sit in my chair as it is getting late.

Today’s The Day

I am so excited today is the day I go to California.  I am all packed and just waiting for the time to pass.  Will be leaving in about an hour.  I can’t believe I have finally made it - I just knew something might come up and I wouldn’t get to go.  I have prayed for God to show me the way and provide the means and he has done that.  God is so good!!

Happy New Year

Well, the day is almost over and I am packed and ready for my trip. I am proud of that as I tend to be the kind that waits till the last minute. We went clothes shopping yesterday and I have some great things to wear. I waited till the last minute waiting for a check to come in and God is Good it arrived yesterday.

I just talked to my girl and she is waiting for me. I took some pictures of all the things I made and then I wrapped them in tissue paper and will put them in my carry-on. I am excited.

bluesock.jpgI have almost finished another pair of socks can you believe that they are getting better and better I am proud of this pair. Here is a picture of the first sock. I know you are probably wondering why there is a white stripe on the toe area. Well, I was running to close on the one skein of yarn per sock so added the white stripe and it actually looks good when they are on your feet. I am using needles that I should be able to take on the plane. I am even taking an extra skein just in case I finish and want to start another pair. Did I say addicted!!

Yes, I’m Hooked

I wasn’t sure about the hooked part until I finished the first sock in my 3rd pair in 6 weeks.  Does that tell you anything??  Of course I am keeping up on all my other knitting.  I have finished everything I made for my kids and grands and I will take pictures today and get them packed in pretty tissue.  Have to keep the packing brief as I want to put in suitcase.

I am still not happy with my Boye circular needles but they will have to work till I get back and can place an order with KnitPicks.  I will post pictures of my new lonely “one” sock as soon as I take pics.  I am casting on for the second and will take on the plane.  The good part about the Boye needles is that the tips are under the 4″ allowed.

I am excited more each day.  We are going to Walmart after church to get Jerry ready to be alone for 6 days.  Well, it is time I better get ready for church.  Hope to post pics this afternoon.

Oh yes, got a new passport drive and it says the same problem so I just backed up everything manually.  That is not what I wanted but is better than nothing.

Time is Running Out

Wow, it is Friday night and I leave next Wednesday for California.  I am working full speed trying to get everything ready. I went to staples and bought a Passbook Drive for my computer and the computer says it is damaged.  I will return it tomorrow and maybe try a different one.  I really did want to have one for a backup it has 160 gigs so it should do the job.  I really liked that it would do an automatic backup if it worked.

I have started a new pair of socks almost done with the first one gave the two circular needles a try and I like it - can’t wait to get some Knit Picks though.  Bought these at Hobby Lobby and they are way to stiff have to fight to make them work.  As soon as I get back will try to do a Knit Picks order - oh funnnnnnnnnn!

Well, off to work on that sock and relax yah right!!

Merry Christmas to You!!

christmas-tree07.jpgIt is a wonderful cold December day and most of all it is the birthday for our Lord and Savior. I just lift up songs of great joy for what he has provided for Jerry and I this year.

When times seemed rough he was there and when times were good he was there. Happy Birthday sweet baby Jesus!!family-friends07.jpg

I am so excited on January 2nd I will be going to California for six days. I haven’t been home for four years and I look forward to a wonderful visit with my family.

I Guess I’m Hooked

I am not sure what has happened but for about 40 years I swore I would never knit socks. Then one day I gave in and I guess I am hooked. I really have been knitting for that long. Well, I bought some sock yarn and got started. firstpair.jpgNow I am sure you can appreciate me saying I wasn’t going to just knit plain socks. So yes the first pair is a lovely lacey pattern.

Yes, I did make mistakes but let’s just call it a learning experience. They fit fine and will even wear fine and I am proud of them. So proud that I have almost finished a second pair made with handspun wool yarn. Now the reason they are not quite finished is I have to spin a tad more yarn to get all the way to the toe.

Now while I am doing that and the yarn is drying you got it I have started another pair. Did I say hooked???

To Long Between Postings

Wow, it has been way to long since I have posted. Lots has been going on, I am really excited I now have a ticket to California and will leave January 2nd and return January 8th. I haven’t been home since my Mom died four years ago and I really look forward to the visit. My beautiful granddaughters Callie and Meagan are home from college and I will get to spend all of that time with them and my daughter Stacie who is also beautiful - but then what can a Mother say.

I have been to a spinning day at the Little Barn since I posted and bought some wonderful new roving. I have my wheel set up on the other end of the room as the Christmas Tree took the best spot. I have it arranged so I can dip into which ever roving I like and enjoy the thrill as the yarn forms on the spindle. I just can’t be happy unless I can use all of the colors so I switch back and forth. May not be the best way but it sure keeps me entertained.

I have finished my first pair of socks and I am working on another pair that I am spinning the yard for - I have decided to put in some stripes for interest.

We had company last night my spinning buddy Kerry and her husband Ricky came for dinner. The first time we had spent time together as couples and the time flew. As we talked we found we have so much in common. Mostly our love for God and then our love for our mates.

This is going to be a lazy day lots of spinning, reading and knitting. I think I will be some pictures of the new scarves I have made for the girls and their Mom for Christmas. They are really nice if I say so myself!! Oh, oh, I hear my wheel calling!! Back later with pictures!!

Little Barn Spinning

What a lovely day to spin. Kerry and I went to the Little Barn in Harvest and spent the better part of the day spinning. There were eight ladies there and the conversation was great. Took some pictures and here they are!!
