Why I Knit!!

I learned to knit as a little girl and then didn’t pick it up again till I became a mother. I got married at 17 and had my first baby - Jamie - when I was 18. I am really not sure why I started knitting again I guess it  was just the thing to do.

I continued with my knitting for a great many years going from just being a knitter to teach and designing. Then one day I quit and had about 25 years pass without picking up a needle. About a year ago I once again picked up those needles and I have been knitting ever since.

The best part of my knitting now is I am part of a church ministry that knits for other people. Baby hats, prayer shawls, stoles, chemo caps and many other items.

Our small group has bonded in a special way that can only happen when women sit down together and start to create something for someone else.
