What a great day…

Hard to believe it is already November!!  It was so delightful today the leaves are starting to turn on the trees. We went to a friends this evening to celebrate her daughters 18th birthday.  It was great - I gave her a scarf I had just finished.  I felt warm all over when after she and her friends had looked it over carefully they asked how much I would charge to make one for her friend.  Of course I said nothing and I have plenty of yarn to do it for her right away.

This has been a tough few days but it is so wonderful now.  All of the things that were so stressing have been taken care of by my blessed Lord - God.  In the beginning I wasn’t sure what would happen but I turned to him and just as he has promised he carried us through!!

Aran Gold Scarf

knitting-008.gifWe went to WalMart yesterday and I found this great yarn - hard to believe it is just Red Heart called “Holiday”. It is fisherman ecru color with a gold thread running through it. I have written a pattern which is a combination of cables and lace. I really like the results so far. I will post the pattern when it is complete. The other great part is it wasn’t expensive. Should be able to make a nice long scarf with one skein.I also like it because it is a fast easy knit. It is almost November so I better get to thinking about Christmas.

What a beautiful Fall day!!

knitting-015.gifFall one of the most beautiful times of the year. There is no doubt God does some of his best work when he paints the fall colors. 010.gifThis is looking out over the pasture. Jerry has worked hard and all of the fields have been mowed and really are pretty. We had a little bit of rain several days ago so hopefully they will green up more before the first freeze. I love watching the horses graze they are so peaceful. I took quite a few pictures today I think I will make a gallery page. The flowers on the patio are still blooming and the ferns have gone absolutely wild such a shame that the first serous freeze they will be gone.

Red Cable Scarf Finished

Wow, one UFO down and lots to go!! It makes me so happy finishing something and starting something new. I will post a pattern and some pictures tomorrow.

I think I got the scarf finished because Annie came today. We sat and talked and you know me I knit best when I am talking. She will be her for the weekend. Maybe I will get Jerry to take a picture of us and I will post it.

100_0505.jpgWe live here on her farm. I guess you could say we are house sitting for the next few years. It is a long story and I truly love it here. We have a large house and 20 acres of land to take care of - - the house sits back off the road and it is truly a lovely place to call home.

I am thinking I should take more pictures. The leaves are starting to turn and they are so very red!! Fall is the prettiest time of the year here.
I guess I better think about sleeping this silly thing has been keeping me up late. I think I have added all of the bells and whistles I can find, at least until the next one comes along!! HeHeHe

New Plugin Toy

lacescarves.jpgI really should be on my way to bed but I have been playing with plug-ins for my blog. I think this is the neatest one I have found. Click on the images - now is that cool or what. I am having so much fun!!

Red Cable Scarf

redscarf.jpgThis one is for the church ministry or maybe I will get started in sending some things to the “Red Scarf Project”. I am doing it in a cable pattern using multi-colored red and orange Bernat Chunky. I will just keep knitting till the skein is gone.

Taking Pictures

spin-knit.jpg I took time this afternoon to listen to ‘Stash and Burn” and look at some works in progress and some finished.

Did I mention it is starting to act like fall here and a great time to get out the fall decorations. I just love this little guy with his basket full of yarn. Took spinning wheel pictures - I have been having a great time being able to relax while spinning. My technique is getting better and better.

wheel.jpgI have to watch that if I have started yarn for a project my spinning stays the same throughout the project - hard as that is to believe. It is starting to change each time I set down - for the better!!

Now I am getting the urge to make another rode trip to the “Little Barn” now you know that the more you have the more you need.  It always seems to work that way.  I have even been thinking about some really cool socks.

They have some really great sock  yarn and then there is the alpaca - I think it is a good thing I joined “Yarnaholics Annonomus on Ravelry!!

Ravelry An Addiction??

lace-scarf.jpgI find my self having less and less self control. Oh, dear what could the matter be. I have even joined a group that uses WordPress Blogs. Wow, is that dangerous!! I have also started two new knitting projects - is all lost or is there hope for me?? I started a scarf for the “Red Scarf” project. Designed new pattern and it is looking great I am thinking a hat to go with it using the same pattern would be great. Well that is that “and that is all I am going to say about that.”

It Has Been A Long Day

It has been a long day - went to Lawrenceburg Tennessee and met with Cinde Lucas and the other ladies that have been helping with her ministry.  She made lunch and it was great, a great chance to remind me that God is Good!!
